Snowfall is Junco's full sister and littermate, but they could not be more different. Junco's exitable and energetic; Snowfall is incredibly laid back. Absolutely nothing fazes that dog. For this reason, she is our daughter's main leader. Where she might lack the fire of her sister, she has dependability and consistency.
The two "girlies" have this sweet way of greeting us - they prefer to howl soft "boo wooooos" to us instead of barking. Snowfall looks like she is pure white, but she is actually extreme piebald - she has just a little patch of grey on her ear.
My favorite Snowfall story - we were breaking trail through about 12" of fresh snow up in the Bayfield penninsula and about 2 miles from the end of our run, someone tried passing us. Their team didn't pass well and we ended in a tangle. After the other team passed, I told my leaders (Junco and Stone) "let's go!". Junco was done. It was just too much for a young leader. No matter how I tried to convince her that we were almost done, she refused to go.
I put her in point and put Snowfall up in lead. Snowfall doggedly forged ahead, compeletely undaunted by the fact that they were all tired and very, very much ready to be done. She's always happy. Not the most social thing - she's friendly to people, other dogs she can take them or leave them. Loves loves LOVES kids. And dependable. And that ranks pretty darn high in my book.
